To facilitate sellers in understanding digital commerce, the Open Network For Digital Commerce (ONDC) has unveiled a WhatsApp chatbot called ‘ONDC Sahayak.’ The beta version of this feature aims to increase awareness about the benefits of ONDC, showcase live categories, connect sellers with participants in the seller network, and simplify the onboarding process. In addition to English and Hindi, the chatbot will soon be equipped to comprehend and communicate in Marathi, Kannada, and Tamil as well. Over the next few months, the chatbot will receive further enhancements and updates.
The digital commerce protocol now supports twelve regional languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu. This expansion, effective from August 15, emphasizes ONDC’s commitment to embracing India’s diversity and fostering inclusion in the digital realm.
By allowing Indians to engage with the ONDC protocol in their preferred language, the organization seeks to ensure accessibility and convenience for all its users. The chatbot’s multilingual capabilities serve as a testament to ONDC’s dedication to accommodating the linguistic diversity of the country.
The launch of ONDC Sahayak is a step towards empowering sellers and enabling them to navigate the digital commerce landscape more effectively. With the chatbot’s assistance, sellers can better understand the benefits of ONDC and connect with relevant participants in the seller network. Furthermore, the simplified onboarding process will streamline their entry into the digital commerce ecosystem.
As digital transformation continues to reshape business landscapes, ONDC’s efforts to bridge the gap and facilitate sellers’ entrance into the digital sphere are commendable. The introduction of the ONDC Sahayak chatbot is expected to contribute significantly to the growth and success of sellers embracing digital commerce.
